Afro beat Music Champion in East and Central Africa Leone Island director Joseph Mayanja known by his stage name Jose Chameleon who turned into a politician recently after officially joining Uganda’s oldest Political Party The Democratic Party (DP) has been Awarded for his out standing role in promoting Africa Art through Music, Whisper Eye Reports.

Jose Chameleon received the Award today during the “African Descent Festival” Vancouver in Canada. Where the Festival had great presentation and discussion on issues that develop society by the use of Art.

Police ban Jose Chameleone music shows

Days after Afro-beat singer Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleon, announced that he had joined the Opposition Democratic Party, police have cancelled his scheduled concerts in Masaka sub-region.

Chameleon   was scheduled to stage three concerts in Mutukula and Kalisizo both in Kyotera District   and another in Bukomansimbi District at the weekend. 

Michael Jackson 10th anniversary of his death celebrated at his last home in Los Angeles

Michael Jackson fans from around the world gathered here on Tuesday to commemorate the King of Pop on the 10th anniversary of his death.

The commemorations were held at Jackson’s last home in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, where the singer received a fatal dose of the anesthetic propofol on the afternoon of June 25, 2009.

Bobi Wine condemns Bajjo arrest, assures supporters that he will defeat Museveni

Uganda’s pop music star turned into politician Kyadondo East MP Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu popularly known by his stage name Bobi Wine has reassured Ugandans on the defeat of president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni amidst intimidation and arrests. Bobi Wine in his statement after the arrest of his ‘Kyarenga’ concert promoter Mukasa Andrew commonly known as Bajjo, has condemned the act.

Bajjo was arrested after a press briefing on Saturday at Centenary Park along Jinja road in Kampala.

Political Sergeant Bobi Wine stopped From Singing for MDC in Zimbabwe


Firebrand Ugandan pro-democracy activist and musician, Bobi Wine was early Saturday forced to sign down by Zimbabwean authorities indicating he was not going to sing any of his inciting songs at the MDC Gweru elective congress where he was invited as main guest.

He revealed this while delivering his speech at the event late Saturday.

Bobi Wine promoters sue police for blocking Kyarenga extra concerts

Two Events companies Abtex Productions and Bajjo Events have dragged the government to court for blocking musical concerts featuring Kyaddondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine.

The concerts had been organized in the districts of Kampala, Lira, Gulu, and Arua from Easter Monday, April, 22 to May 5, 2019.  The events companies say that they had entered into an agreement with Bobi Wine and his crew to provide entertainment at 230 million Shillings through the Easter festivities.

Eurovision 2019: Netherlands wins song contest


The Netherlands’ Duncan Laurence has won the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest with his song Arcade.

He had been the bookmakers’ favourite to win, and came through to the top of the leaderboard with 492 points after the public vote.

The UK’s Michael Rice came bottom, after getting just three points from the public vote, and a total of 16 points for Bigger Than Us.

Whisper Eye understands Rwandan born Ugandan and a re-known guitarist Nshuti Mbabazi known for her Situka Tutambule and other several covers has acknowledged the new signing with Fast Lane Music Label which is owned by the famous music writer Nyce Henry.

Uganda artistes demand UCC to enforce local content law

Local musicians and filmmakers have asked the Uganda Communications Commission to implement the local content law.

According to the 2006 Broadcasting Policy, local content refers to content which recognizes the culture and linguistic diversity of Uganda. It carries themes of relevance to the local audience and is produced under Uganda’s creative control. One of UCC’s minimum broadcasting standards calls for 70 per cent of all content to be local.
