Mirundi Namatovu is Tamale Mirundi’s mother thus, the veteran journalist gave his mother’s name to his daughter to show love to his mother.

King Mumbere cancels Queen Mother’s burial trip

On Tuesday 11th June, 2019, at exactly midday, my dearest mother, Biira Christine Mukirania breathed her last. My mother has been battling with Diabetes. Since December last year, I have been under the the emotional trauma of watching my mother waste away gradually in pain. Medical diagnosis revealed that the vessels carrying blood to the legs had significantly narrowed hence making the passage of blood hard. I have watched my mother go through a series of amputations from the toes to the thigh. Every time she went to the theatre, my heart coiled in deep pain.

Bobi Wine former Political opponent ‘Apollo Kantinti’ ill, in a critical condition

The former Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Apollo Kantinti has been hospitalised in a critical condition, Whisper Eye  exclusively reports.

The former FDC lawmaker, who fell ill last week is reportedly admitted at a private hospital in Kampala.

Fufa President Magogo sets AFCON target for Cranes

Ebola Fight: EU donates Shs 14bn to Uganda and South Sudan

he European Union has announced an emergency funding of 3.5 million Euros (Shs 14bn) to strengthen rapid detection and reaction to Ebola cases in Uganda and South Sudan.     

Emmanuel Davies Gyezaho, the press and information officer, European Union Delegation to Uganda, says that out of released funds, 2.5 million euros (about Shs 10.7 billion) is for Uganda and 1 million euros (about Shs 4 billion) for South Sudan.

Ebola suspected victim tests negative in Kisoro, Uganda

A five-year-old girl who’d been confined at the Bunagana border in Kisoro district has tested negative to Ebola virus disease.  

The girl was among a group of 51 refugees who arrived at Bunagana border on Tuesday night from Itungo village, North Kivu province of the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. They were reportedly crossing to Nyakabande Transit Centre in Kisoro district when they were intercepted. 

Uganda: How 2019/2020 Budget will be financed

Government plans to collect 20.4 trillion Shillings with over 18.87 trillion coming from tax revenues in the coming financial year.

Only 1.5 trillion Shillings is expected from Non-Tax Revenue (NTR) sources, so as to finance the 10.48 trillion Shilling 2019/2020 financial year budget.

Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) is set to collect all Government revenues including Appropriation in Aid (AIA) which has been currently collected by different government entities.

Uganda increases Agriculture Budget to 1 Trillion shillings

Government has allocated 1 trillion shillings for the Agricultural sector in the financial year 2019/2020. Agriculture last year was allocated 893 billion shillings.

The Finance Minister Matia Kasaija on Thursday said that the increment is meant to boost the Agriculture sector.

Uganda allocates UGX 200bn for 2021 elections

The Government has allocated 223 billion shillings for the implementation of the Electoral Roadmap for the 2021 General Elections.

This was revealed by the Minister for Finance, Planning and Economic Development Matia Kasaija on Thursday during the presentation of the budget for financial year 2019/2020.

King Mumbere, Prince Kibanzanga clash over burial of Rwenzururu queen mother

Rwenzururu King Charles Wesley Mumbere and his young brother Christopher Kibanzanga have disagreed over dates and site to bury their mother Christine Biira Mukirania.

Mukirania who has been the Queen Mother of the Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu (OBR) Kingdom died at Kilembe Mines Hospital on Tuesday, June 11. The 85-year-old woman had been battling hypertension and diabetes for some time.

FDC beats odds in Nebbi as two councillors declared winners unopposed, FDC LC5 candidate nominated

Uganda’s major opposition political party Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has taken an immense early lead in the Nebbi district by-election immediately after nomination of their district LCV Chairman flag bearer Mr. Onyai Emmanuel Vicky popularly known as Vicky in Nebbi, yesterday.

Mr. Vicky was fully nominated as a candidate and his nomination was boosted by two district councillors who were also nominated and won unopposed on FDC party ticket. According to FDC party EC, Alala Sub County Woman Councillor and Padwot Sub-county direct Councillor were nominated unopposed giving FDC a magical lead in the Nebbi by-election.

Ebola kills another person in Kasese, Uganda

 Another person who tested positive of Ebola in Kasese has died. 

The deceased is the grandmother to the five-year-old boy who succumbed to the same disease on Tuesday night. 

Dr Yusuf Baseke the Kasese District Health Officer says the old woman who has been undergoing treatment at the Ebola Treatment Unit at Bwera Hospital in Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council died on Wednesday evening. 

Tycoon Aaron Houarea named Uganda Poor Youth head of Investment and Trade

Mr Aaron Houareau has been confirmed the Head of Investment and Trade of the Uganda Poor Youth Movement by the Central Executive Council of the Uganda Poor Youth Movement/C50 Community Change Agents in a press release sent to Whisper Eye signed by Sempala Zahid the spokesperson of Poor Youth Movement.

MR Aaron Hoareau is a Ugandan by Nationality and a successful young entrepreneur. He was born in Uganda and raised at his Grand Parents home in Victoria in the Republic of Seychelles. He attended education in Uganda,Seychelles, United Kingdom and Belgium.He is a close friend of Luzindana Adam Buyinza the Supreme Leader of Uganda Poor Youth Movement (UPYM).
