Mengo Cabinet reshuffle, Kabaka Mutebi – Museveni meeting resolutions set off

Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II made his latest reshuffle in Mengo cabinet on Friday evening. In the reshuffle many ministers were dropped, few elevated and some new appointments.

President Museveni visited Kabaka Mutebi in his Banda Palace in Wakiso. During the meetings many resolutions were made which included a step to reduce on the political pressure mainly from the central region, land issues, partnership between Mengo government and the central government including appointments in both governments.

Jaguar bus knocks cyclist dead , driver arrested

The Police in Kabale have arrested and detained the driver of Jaguar bus Registration Number UAT 700C identified as Josephat Mugasha who knocked dead a cyclist along Kabale – Mbarara road this afternoon.

Elly Maate , the Kigezi Region Police Spokesman, said that the accident took place at Ahakatojo, in Kaharo sub county where the unidentified cyclist was knocked dead.

FDC Jinja LC 3 boss arrested while crossing to DRC – Police

The Police in Kisoro District have in their detention Kirunda Mubarak , the LC 3 chairman for Central Division in Jinja Municipality after he was intercepted at Bunagana Border post with Democratic Republic of Congo.

Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate said that Kirunda together with two other people were arrested by the border security team who suspected them to be ‘wrong elements’.

Ugandans continue to debate and discuss the arrest of Mityana Municipality legislator as yesterday evening along Kampala -Entebbe road over allegedly escape from Arua police station during the Arua fracas. It was drama yesterday when the Learned Deputy Attorney General Mwesigwa Rukutana appeared before the Commission of inquiry into land matters which is headed & chaired by Her Ladyship Justice Catherine Bamugemereire (JA).

MP Zaake rushed to Arua where he escaped from – Uganda Police

Kampala Metropolitan Commander Moses Kafeero confirmed the arrest of Mityana municipality MP Francis Zzaake Mutebi on Thursday night along Kampala-Entebbe road. Kafeero said Zzaake has to be charged with a number of charges including escaping from Police Custody, Treason which his counterparts were charged with.

During the Arua fracas Zzaake was tortured dumped at Lubaga Hospital in Kampala and the young legislator was unconscious and he was already in a dying mode. It is not a surprise to the Uganda police force to charge Zzaake with escaping from lawful police custody.

People Power de’facto vice Mp Zaake arrested by 14 police officers

Mityana municipality MP Francis Zaake Butebi, has been arrested in Kampala city centre on Thursday evening. Mp Zaake was arrested at around 8:45pm along Kampala – Entebbe road while his car was struggling amidst heavy traffic jam.

According to an eye witness told Whisper Eye that over 14 police officers both in uniform and causal clothes arrested People Power deputy Hon Zaake amidst heavy security. He said that there were four men in plain clothes who were moving a long side Zaake’s car for a distance of a bout 20 meters until those in police uniforms came and immediately Zaake was arrested.

On the 19th day of February 2019 the Parliament of the Republic of Uganda passed into law the longly awaited Minimum Wages Act 2015.

The Rev. Captain Odongo Kosea has been elected the 6th Bishop of Soroti Diocese. He will be consecrated and enthroned as Bishop on 16th June 2019 at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Soroti. He will succeed the Most. Rev. Stanley Ntagali, who has been the Acting Bishop of the Diocese since the Rt. Rev.

George William Erwau retired in July 2018. Bishop Nicodemus Okille has been the Caretaker Bishop of Soroti, providing episcopal leadership on behalf of the Archbishop.

Police rescue woman chained in Luweero church

Police in Luweero District on Tuesday stormed a born- again church to rescue a 23-year- old woman reportedly chained by a Pentecostal pastor in attempt to pray for her.

Luweero District Police Commander, Mr Benson Byaruhanga on Wednesday told this reporter that Ms Winnie Nakiwala was picked from a Rural Evangelical Church headed by Pastor Betty Kisakye located in Luweero Town Council.

Bukomansimbi Woman MP gives birth to a bouncing baby girl

Whisper Eye understands Bukomansimbi Woman MP Veronica Nanyondo has given birth to a bouncing baby girl at Nsambya Hospital. DP’s Nanyondo has taken some few weeks out of the public and her private phone cell has been off and on causing a lot of debate in the public mainly from her constituency asking what happened to their beloved legislator.

Nanyondo came to the lime light in 2016, after the death of her young sister the late Susan Namaganda who was the Woman MP for Bukomansimbi district.
