Why People Power may be limping after Hoima blow

The newly created opposition platform People Power Movement led by Kyadondo East legislator Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu popularly known as Bobi Wine tested Museveni’s long arm in the just concluded Hoima by-election.

People Power decided to back Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) flag bearer in the Hoima Woman MP race.

MP Kyagulanyi and his team took over Nyakato Asinansi’s campaign from FDC claiming to deliver victory for the opposition.

On many occasions, People Power coordinators insulted FDC party leaders including Party president Patrick Aboi Amuliat and People’s government president Dr. Kiiza Besigye.

However after the polls National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate Busingye Harriet merged victor.

At the expense of the opposition more so, People Power whose coordinators owned the whole campaign, to an extent of insulting opposition forces of change.

Yesterday People Power principal Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu accepted the fact that election can be rigged.

Mr Wine blamed Mr Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for rigging the victory of the people of Hoima.

People Power coordinators accuses Dr. Besigye for failing to protect the votes of Ugandans, after claiming victory in the presidential race.

Now the question that People Power must solve how to protect votes in 2021 in the whole country, if they failed to protect votes in the single district.

Hoima Woman MP race brought People Power to realities in Uganda’s politics.

Some political analysts have questioned People Power’s ability to defeat president Museveni in 2021.

And argue that the Hoima by-election left Bobi Wine’s People Power limping a head of 2021, presidential polls.
