Timothy Awany’s calm finish secures 3 point for KCCA FC against URA FC

URA’s unbeaten run in the league this season came to an end on match day 15 as visitors and title favourites KCCA sunk the tax collectors by 1 goal to zero at Namboole stadium.

The first half was a goal less one with only a few clear goal scoring opportunities like in the 35th minute when KCCA’s Allan Okello shot went over the bar .

URA’s best first half chance came through Shafique Kagimu who tried to curve the ball past the visitor’s keeper only to be denied by the finger tips of Charles Lukwago the KCCA short stopper.

It was in the 2nd half when the spectators got a chance to see a goal and the only goal the day courtesy of defender Timothy Awany in the 56th minute. This became the match decider as the rest of the second half looked stale.

KCCA coach Mike Mutebi was happy with the win as he quoted saying “this is the most impressive win”.

URA’s coach Sam Simbwa was however not so happy with the referees standards saying he didn’t handle the match to the required standards.
