Bobi Wine’s new song “Tuliyambala Engule” has become talk of the nation, attracting both approval and reproach from several Ugandans.
Pastor Martin Ssempa, an activist and founder of the Makerere Community Church accused the Kyadondo East MP, real name Robert Kyagulanyi of trying to replace Jesus and distorting the Christian heritage to push his political campaigns.

But the singer has today defended the lyrics, calling it a song of hope for Ugandans.
“That song is supposed to re-emphasize confidence in the minds and hearts of all Ugandans.

To make them know that the times we are going through are not easy but at the end of this struggle, after we win, we shall wear the victor’s crown,” he said in an interview with NTV Uganda.

In the meantime it has been reported that the boss of Uganda communication commission Engr Godfrey Mutabaazi is reported to have warned radio and TV stations not to play the song.

That playing the song is treasonous and it disturbs the peace of the president
He has warned even individuals who have the song on their phones that they are at risk and could be tracked down.
